Business English, one to one or for teams

Sound as sharp in English as you do in Italian.

Meetings, presentations, negotiations, and the email you’ve rewritten four times. We practise the situations you actually face at work, with your real slides, clients and deadlines. One to one, or as a tailored programme for your team.

Where English gets tested

The moments that matter at work.

Nobody freezes ordering a pint. It’s the meeting where you need to disagree, or the question you didn’t prepare for. That’s what we train.

  • Meetings

Getting a word in, disagreeing politely and summing up so people remember your point.

Say it like thisSorry, can I just come in here?

  • Presentations

A strong opening, clear signposting and a calm answer to the tricky question at the end.

Say it like thisLet me walk you through the numbers.

  • Negotiations

Pushing back, conceding a point without losing face and closing the deal.

Say it like thisWe could meet you halfway on that.

  • Emails

Clear, polite and British, not translated word for word from Italian.

Say it like thisJust a quick follow-up on yesterday’s call.

  • Calls and video calls

Small talk that doesn’t dry up, bad lines and keeping things moving.

Say it like thisSorry, you broke up there. Could you say that again?

  • Job interviews

Your real CV turned into answers that sound natural, not memorised.

Say it like thisWhat drew me to this role was…

Why learn it from me

I’ve sat on your side of the table.

Before I taught English, I spent years in sales and technology, working with teams in the UK and Germany, and then in the fuel industry. I sat through the meetings, made the calls and gave the presentations, a fair few of them in German.

So I know what professional English actually sounds like, and what it feels like to do all that in a language that isn’t your own.

On the bar

Four phrasal verbs for the office.

The words that fill a British meeting, and that Italian speakers rarely reach for. Tap a beer mat to turn it over.

From a real lesson

It started as a film review and ended in a boardroom.

Cross-Examination⏱ 9 min

Now I challenge you. Stay calm, give a reason for everything, and concede a point only if you really must. Useful moves: That’s a fair point, but… / I see it differently because…

  1. “Isn’t it just entertainment? Why analyse it so seriously?”
  2. “Give me one scene that proves your point.”
  3. “Would an English-speaking audience see it the same way as an Italian one?”

Role-Play: The Acquisitions Panel⏱ 10 min

Scenario: you work in the acquisitions team of an Italian streaming platform. You must convince the head of content (me) to buy the series you have just presented.

Round 1: a 60-second pitch. Round 2: answer my questions about audience, cost and risk. Round 3: we swap roles.

  • Your teaching style is friendly, engaging and well-structured, which makes learning enjoyable and helps you feel comfortable speaking without worrying too much about making mistakes.

I met Anthony through Instagram, watching his smart and funny reels. I liked I could take online individual lessons without wasting time travelling, because it would have been difficult for me between work and daughters.

What I couldn’t know was how brilliant and multifaceted is his mind and his method. You can’t get bored. He helps you to develop your language skill in the deepest and smartest way you can.

It’s like going to an English school and taking all the courses, even extracurricular ones in a single lesson, without you having to move from your home. You can explore grammar and philosophy and contemporary art and deep and existential questions but also history and current issues all in the same lesson.

He’s patient and always cheerful and helpful. He calibrates the exercise to your level, pushing you to take a step further, and encourages even the smallest improvement.

All I can suggest is to have a lesson with him. He is worthy.

BerengarioVienna · Individual lessons

I really enjoyed my lessons with you. Your teaching style is friendly, engaging and well-structured, which makes learning enjoyable and helps you feel comfortable speaking without worrying too much about making mistakes.

I particularly appreciated your patience and the way you adapt the lessons to my needs and level.

Overall, a very positive experience, and I would definitely recommend you to anyone looking for a supportive and effective teacher!

OresteLodi · Individual lessons

I’m having lessons with Anthony and I’m very happy with them. I don’t have much time, but his method is fantastic because it brings together three things: conversation, which helped me loosen up and speak with more confidence; analysing videos, with summaries to prepare between lessons; and grammar, explained clearly and never boringly. Anthony is well prepared, patient and knows how to motivate you. I’d recommend him to anyone who wants to improve their English in a practical way… I started out knowing next to nothing of the language, but I’m enjoying it more and more!

Since I started studying with Anthony my ability to speak and understand English has improved tremendously, even though I had tried other schools.

Beyond the expertise and teaching method Anthony also has the sympathy, simplicity and ability to range from one topic to another allowing for a very fluid and pleasant conversation, without forgetting the educational aspect.
